Some people chase
the night.
We own the morning.
And then we do the night too. The Why Group puts on events you have to actually turn up for.
It started with a run. A few of us, 5 AM, no fee, no form to fill in — just an address and a time. Most people said they'd come. Some actually did.
5 AM filters people. That turned out to be the whole idea.
Since December 2024 we've put on football that sold out, released more spots and sold out again; sundowners that ran past closing; a World Cup final on a big screen; morning editions with an ice bath and brunch on the grass; and a free trail run on Independence Day that filled up in three days. Different rooms every time, same rule: a cap on the numbers, and a door that closes on time.
We're not trying to be the biggest thing in the city. A room of eighty people who all want to be there beats a ground with four hundred who wandered in. You show up alone. You leave with a squad.
Three things
[ One group ]The Why Events
Nights, sundowners and one-offs.
Sundowners, screenings, football, carnivals. Rooms with a cap and a door that closes on time.
The Why Run Club
Outrun the average.
Free runs four mornings a week — Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. No fee, no sign-up. The Why Morning is the ticketed version: run, ice bath, challenges, brunch.
The Why Show
Conversations with the room.
The people who show up are more interesting than the events. New episodes soon.
How the door works
[ Read this before you book ]One profile
Sign in once with Google and fill in your details. Every booking after that is a couple of taps.
One pass, one person
Your QR is tied to you and works once. A screenshot passed around gets turned away at the door.
Guests claim their own
Book for friends and each of them gets a link. They claim it, they get their own QR. Nobody enters on someone else's pass.
Refunds on a clock
Every event shows its refund schedule — the earlier you cancel, the more comes back. Cancel from My Passes in two taps.
The city's still asleep.
